Hi battle - Thanks for the question

There is a lot of power in Hackety Hack (and it's engine 'shoes') which handle most of the input and graphics that you might need to write a game.
If you first figure out what type of game you want to create (maze, shooter, text, cards) and then plan how you want it to appear then you can look at the tools shoes has that will help you.
Apart from the references on the FAQ page there is also a huge (but slightly old) set of tutorials at http://shoes-tutorial-note.heroku.com/ which include full graphics games mini adventure game but you might like try the easier examples first.
